Chris de Burgh - The River Sessions

On the chilly Sunday evening of the 8th November 1981, the legendary Glasgow Apollo Theatre proved next stop after Liverpool Empire for an artist then on the edge of Worldwide acclaim - Chris de Burgh.
This excellent concert promoting the successful 'Best Moves' album was originally broadcast by Radio Clyde shortly afterwards to a local radio audience and then unbelievably, left to gather dust.

The archive was eventually unearthed after the chief executive of Scottish Radio Holdings, Richard Findlay, lay in bed one night wondering what had happened to the recordings and ordered a search of the attics and cellars of its Glasgow HQ.

Chris de Burgh and band in 1981

Chris de Burgh said recently on www.cdeb.com,"Oh yes, I remember the Apollo extremely well. It used to be on a British and Scottish tour, that we'd all say "Wait till we get to Liverpool, and wait till we get to Glasgow." Because those two places were certainly in the late 70s and early 80s the most inspiring venues to perform in. I used to absolutely love the Apollo!"

The River Sessions has a total playing time of 76 mins on CD 1 and 15 mins on CD 2. Chris de Burgh and his superb 1981 band perform the following track listing:
