Howard JonesHoward Jones

O2 Academy, Liverpool

13 April, 2012

Howard Jones always comes across as a consummate professional; whether on stage to packed out audiences in differing venues around the world or even when he mixing with his legion of fans after what could be described as one brilliant show.

As part of his latest tour, Howard Jones arrived on stage at the o2 Academy, Liverpool to huge applause and the expected good natured banter from the local crowd. The musician wasted no time in giving the audience an evening of good cheer by performing the first two of his albums in a career that has stretched back way before 1984’s debut album Human’s Lib when he was touring pubs and clubs ahead of his enormous success.

The two albums, the aforementioned Human’s Lib and the follow up 1985 smash Dream Into Action were played in their entirety for a packed out, eager and passionate audience that gave Howard as much support and love every time he stepped from behind his beloved keyboards.

By rolling back the years to the early albums, it seems Howard was onto an absolute winner, whilstno-one would have minded if the talented musician had played songs from the new album, by playing tracks such as Look Mama, Like To Get To Know You Well and the outrageously brilliant Hunger For The Flesh, all of which formed the backbone of the first part of the show, Howard showed his creativity and warmth for songs that made his name in the British music Industry.

The second half of the show was just as impressive as songs such as Pearl In The Shell and What is Love thrilled an audience that could have sang all night alongside him.

Howard finished a great evening with the tremendous New Song before greeting fans after the show, much to theirs and his delight.
